This week  we reviewed the stages of pregnancy. For our final we need to make a presentation about them. It is crazy how fast a baby develops. We learned so much this semester.

This week we created toddler learning environments. That is basically a daycare for toddlers. A lot goes into a daycare. We learned about all the components that toddlers need in a daycare. I had to put together a PowerPoint, with my partner about a toddler leaning environment. It took a lot of work and I learned so much.

November 20, 2015
This week we did a bunch of toddler crafts. one of the crafts we did was making a turkey out of paper. To make this experience more authentic we had to cut everything out with our non-dominant hands. It was very difficult to do this and it made my hand hurt. This made me realize a little part of what it is like to be learning how to do thing that are new. We also learned about making schedules and menus for toddlers at daycare. It would be hard to have to run a daycare for toddlers.

This week we made toddler lesson plans. As table groups we made up a lesson designed to teach simple math. We had to teach the lesson to the class. Every table was given shape blocks and had to sort them and make patterns with them. I never realized how challenging it is to get an entire class to listen and follow directions. Teaching teenagers is hard I can't imagine hoe hard it is to teach a bunch of toddlers.

This week we learned about toddlers. It is crazy how fast their emotions can change. They throw temper tantrums to express their frustration or anger. We also watched The Little Mermaid and compared Ariel to a toddler. It is amazing how much they have in common.

This week we got to play with many things that toddlers play with. We learned how they play. We also learned what skills these toys develop. Something as simple as playing with shaving cream can develop a lot for a child. They work on many skills when they play.

This week we made infant learning environments. It was amazing to see how much stuff they need. I can't believe that there is only two teachers assigned to eleven infants. It must be crazy watching so many kids. Infant centers must be really expensive to make. It is very interesting to learn about what goes into childcare.

This week we made lesson plans for infants. I had no idea how much goes into planning a lesson for infants. Each activity must be age appropriate and go with a theme. Activities must also teach the children something like sensory skills or fine motor skills. It taught me a lot about teaching infants.

Last weekend I got to take home one of the realcare babies. It taught me a lot about what parenting an infant is really like. My baby wasn't that bad. I was only woken up around once a night. My baby was very low maintenance. It was nothing near what I had expected my baby to act like, I was expecting a lot more crying. This project really taught me a lot.

This week we finished up our flour baby project. This project taught me so much about what it's like to have a baby. It got very tiring carrying the baby around everywhere I went. I was constantly worried that someone would hurt my flour baby. It is hard work being a mom to a flour baby let alone a real baby. Despite everything little Mia Marie mad it through the week just fine. I am so grateful for this class and all it has taught me so far.

This week we made flower babies. We have to carry them around until next week. They weigh 5 pounds. Carrying them around is really tiring. I have to constantly worry about my baby getting damaged or hurt. People are always asking to hold my baby. I have to constantly tell people that they can't hold her because I do not trust them just in case they harm her. Carrying babies around is hard.

This week in class I got to wear the pregnancy belly. It is a fake belly that you put on to simulate being pregnant. I had to complete different tasks while wearing it including walking up stairs, carrying a car seat with a fake baby in it, picking stuff up off the ground, and many other things. The belly made every task a little bit harder to complete. Wearing it was very tiring. The belly gave me a more real idea of what being pregnant is like.

This week I got to wear the pregnancy belly. It simulates being pregnant. I had to complete everyday tasks such as walking up the stairs and putting on my shoes while wearing it. The belly made every task a little harder. This helped me realize a little bit of what pregnant women go through.

This week in class we learned about the stages that babies go through at different times during the pregnancy. We also learned about things the mother goes through. Mrs. Hundley also taught us about the ways that babies develop in the mother.

This week in class we learned about the many stages a women goes through in pregnancy. We also learned about the negative effects drinking and doing drugs during a pregnancy. we went over some of the many birth defects that babies could have.
